When working with ZIP files in Box, you can use Box Preview to navigate the contents of the ZIP file without downloading the file itself.  This saves time because you no longer must download and unzip a ZIP file to explore its contents. To preview a ZIP file: In your Box Files window, click on the ZIP file.  Box displays a list of all the folders and files contained within the ZIP file.  From here you can:
  • view and navigate the contents of the ZIP file, and
  • type keywords in the window’s search field to search for content within the ZIP file.  When you click on one of the search results, Box displays the contents of that folder path.
Notes:
  • Clicking on a folder displays the folder’s contents, however, clicking on an individual file does not display the file’s contents.
  • If the ZIP file includes time zone information, the time displayed in the Modified column is Pacific Standard Time.  Otherwise, the time displayed in the Modified column is the local time where the ZIP file was created.
  • Box Mobile apps cannot preview ZIP files.
