Box Content Preview enables you to preview documents by converting files from their original file type to a file type that can display in a browser. During this conversion, Box embeds supported fonts in the documents so you can view them on any device.
Note Box cannot support proprietary fonts that have restrictive licenses. The reasons for this vary. Some licenses do not allow embedding or commercial use. Other fonts are licensed on a per-user basis that can’t be enforced on Box.
If Box doesn’t support a font, Content Preview instead identifies and uses the next best font. Typically the next best font is similar enough to provide a good preview experience. However, in some cases the differences in the fonts create formatting issues. Information on supported file types.
