Permissions

There are six levels of permissions in Box Apps: Enterprise Admin, Box Apps Manager, Owner, Co-Owner, Editor, and Viewer. See Understanding Collaborator Permission Levels for more information on permissions. Note
  • Enterprise Admin can only enable Box Apps access and Box Apps management for specific users or user groups.
  • Box Apps Manager can create new Apps and duplicate existing ones, as well as manage metadata on multiple items at once.
  • The owner is the user that created a given App.
  • Co-Owner has the same permissions as an Owner.
  • Editor has the same permissions as a Co-Owner, except for deleting and renaming an App.
  • Viewers can’t make any changes to the App they are invited to. File permissions are managed separately from App permissions. App Viewer can edit files or metadata within an App when they have access rights to those files.
Important
The files, folders, and other content you view in a Box App respect the permissions you have already on that content in Box. The permissions described here refer to what you can do with the App itself, and not the content and metadata you will encounter in Views, Forms, and so on.
Below tables list all actions each of them can perform in Apps. Enterprise level permissions
