Even if your organization uses SSO to manage your Box account credentials, if you use external applications with Box that are not supported by SSO, you will need to create a password to access those applications. Also, if your organization Admin disables SSO, you would use this password with yur username to access Box.
  1. Click your user icon in the upper-right, then go to Account Settings > Account.
  2. In the Authentication section, select Create Password.
  3. Enter your password twice. Your organization Admin may have minimum password requirements defined that your password must meet.
  4. Select Save.
