Your Recents page contains the last 1000 files you’ve accessed, starting with the ones you’ve accessed most recently. This includes files opened in other Box applications or on other devices.

To open your Recent Files, hover over the arrow next to it and click it. A carousel with your recently accessed files opens.

If your file is not in the carousel or you prefer a standard folder view, click the See all button over the file carousel. You can also display your recent files by hovering over Files. Scroll to the bottom of the list in the popover and click See All Recents to access all your recent files and folders.

The following files will appear in this section:
  • Previewed files
  • Modified files (includes new version uploads)
  • Files you commented on
  • Files opened from a shared link
By default, your Recents list includes both files you accessed directly and files you viewed through a shared link sent to you. To see only files you accessed through shared links, click All Recents, then click Viewed via Shared Link.

You can preview and share files from the Recents page if you have permission to do so. But you must go to the file’s parent folder or the preview screen to take other actions on the file (move, download, and so on). If you have permission to access to a file’s parent folder, a link to that folder displays beneath the file name. You cannot access the parent folders of files accessed via shared links. Notes The Recents section is capped at 50 items per page for performance reasons. Uploading a new file will not make it appear in Recents.
